How to Clean Your House with a Baby Around

Almost any parent with a newborn baby knows the hassle that comes with having to clean the house and perform domestic chores while an infant is around. With the presence of the new member of the family, they will most likely find that the domestic mess in their house has tripled in size overnight. Likewise, they will also have to face the issue of how to clean and perform household chores in a way that is not harmful to the baby. Here then are some tips on safe cleaning with a baby at home.

When attempting to clean the house while carrying your baby at the same time, a baby sling is an appropriate accessory to wear. This is great for tasks like vacuuming, washing the dishes, and doing the laundry. However, when using, cleaning or when you are around any toxic chemicals and airborne particles, this should not be done at all. At best, place your baby inside a well-insulated but well-ventilated room while doing the task.

You should also avoid using any scented fabric softener or laundry soap with strong chemicals, as harsh perfumes and dyes can irritate your baby's skin. Likewise, avoid using bleach. Babies are more sensitive to scents than adults are. As an alternative, make use of organic cleaning products that are nontoxic and safer.

Additionally, be sure not to have your baby around when you are dusting the house, as dust particles can irritate your baby. Also, never cook while holding your baby or carry anything hot such as coffee, as if in the chance that your baby moves or squirms around, he could possibly get burnt.

These are just some of the things you can do to ensure a safe and healthy environment in your house for your baby.
